Associate Attorney


We are seeking an experienced attorney with integrity, skills and confidence to join our Newport office. If the idea of being a traditional country lawyer appeals to you, this is a great position to consider.

To thrive in this role, a successful candidate must be an experienced litigator and have the flexibility and knowledge to practice in a broad array of legal areas, including estate planning, criminal defense, family law and civil litigation. The candidate should have 5-7 years of experience, extensive courtroom experience, work well independently, and enjoy working in a comfortable small town environment.

An attorney in this office will also have the support of an experienced paralegal and law clerk.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert legal analysis and arrive at practical solutions for clients
Meet regularly and communicate effectively with clients
Conduct effective legal research
Work effectively with case related personnel including doctors, expert witnesses, prosecutors, judges and other people in the criminal justice system
Draft pertinent legal documents
Obtain and organize appropriate case related materials

Qualifications
Graduate of accredited law school and member of Pennsylvania Bar
5-7 years of experience in practice
Litigator with extensive courtroom experience
Knowledge and flexibility to practice in a variety of legal areas
Strong work ethic with very high standards for both quality and quantity of work
Self-motivated and proactive in organizing work and anticipating issues in advance
Well organized with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
